

No luck for Bears 2 at National Finals in Worcester.
Division 3 Semi Final: The Bears2 25 v 65 CSWC Panthers 2
The Bears 2 suffered a massive defeat in their semi-final clash against Panthers, who eventually went on to take the third division title at this season’s national playoffs at the Worcester Arena on Saturday. From the opening tip off the Bears were in trouble against a fast, talented Panthers side who were able to cut through a weakened Bears team, who were missing players. Throughout the game, the Bears fought valiantly to try and stay within touching distance but were unable to against the eventual champions CSWC Panthers 2.
Division 1 Bronze Medal Game: Wakefield Whirlwinds 50 v 48 Bears 2
The Bears 2 lost out on the bronze medal in the game by a single score in the game for the bronze medal. In a game that saw both teams exchanging the lead throughout, it was the Whirlwinds who took the decisive lead at the end of the last quarter and were able to hold out to secure the win.
After the final Coach Masterson said “It has been a disappointing end to such a marvellous season, this weekend but I’m still immensely proud of how well the team has done all season. This weekend has hopefully shown that we need to start the hard work straight away to get ready for next season and the second division.”
