The Bears Premier team again had an long distance journey to Exeter Otters who were promoted back into the top division after a couple of seasons in the lower division. The Otters kept up the pressure on the Bears in the second quarter but the Bears cut down on their forced mistakes and were able to keep in touch going into the half time with the scores Otters 33 – 26 Bears.
After the break the Otters began to target the Bears leading scorer Daz Peasley putting all their efforts into forcing him further away from his shooting range, but the Bears turned to Macauley Tomlinson and Jacob Robinson to try and keep within touch going into the last quarter with the scores. Otters 47 – 36 Bears.
The last quarter was a mirror of the earlier quarters, with Otters targeting Bears shooters whilst keeping their score ticking over and keeping the lead they had earlier built up to finish the game. Otters 57 – 47 Bears
After the game Coach Masterson said “Congratulations to Otters on a graet performance and a good win for them. They put us under enormous pressure from the tip-off and we couldn’t break the shackles they put on us. We will go away and work hard on our game and with trying t get a win from somewhere.”
