In a busy weekend of fixtures, that had five of the Bears’ teams in action in different leagues across the West Midlands, the Bears came away with a mixed bag of results. Premier League
C.W.B.A: 86
Bears: 52
The Bears Premier team had a disappointing game against the impressive C.W.B.A. team, who were once again brimming with young G.B talent. From the start the Bears were struggling with the speed and accuracy of the opposing side, who swamped the Bears attack whilst free flowing to the Bears basket. Despite a spirited effort from the Bears, they were no match for the C.W.B.A’s deadly duo of Peter Cussack and Liam Hassle who couldn’t miss – giving the C.W.B.A. a game winning lead and going into the half time with the scores C.W.B.A: 49 – 12 Bears.
The Bears came out the second half determined to play for some pride and began to find their way to the C.W.B.A. basket and add to their score, but were still unable to stop the impressive C.W.B.A. from maintaining their advantage to finish the game still with a comfortable win of C.W.B.A: 86 – 52 Bears
After the game Coach Masterson said “Congratulations to C.W.B.A. an awesome performance. Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say we were truly beaten by a far better side. That is the standard that we have to look to achieve and only hard work will get us there. I couldn’t fault our determination today and everyone gave 100%. We will go away and work hard to try and reach that level.”
Division 1 South

The Bears second team also had a tough day when against the C.W.B.A. second team, who were also able to field some of the current GB Woman’s team. From the start the C.W.B.A. were dominant and played the game out to an impressive win.
After the game assistant Coach Jacob Robinson said “Bears 2 took their first victory of the season with a fantastic game from start to finish. Winning by the narrowest of margins with 3 seconds left on the clock. Although trailing for most the game the bears remained positive and never gave up.
Division 3 Central/South East
C.W.B.A 3: 62
Bears 3:29
Bears 3 brought some pride to the side as they were able to take the first and only win of the day. With impressive juniors Kylen Jackson and Ellan Fraser starring for the Bears, the visiting team took the win.
