NL Third Division South & West

Warwickshire Bears 2 19

Plymouth Storm 45

Sundays game against Plymouth was going to be a harder task with the Bears losing a player from the day before, being released from hospital with concussion and advised not to play, this saw the Bears with only six available players.  The Bears 2 stared the game well holding Plymouth and keeping in reach of their score but as the game progressed the more experienced and fresher Storm team took control of the game pulling away from the Bears 2 who were unlucky with a number of their shots rolling and spinning out of the basket.  The Bears continued with their dogged defence but were unable to make any in roads to the Storms score, who finished comfortable winners at the end.

“I was really proud of the team today, as the score no ways reflect on how well they played with the limited amount of players available to us.  It was a big loss to lose Liz from the team, but we are really happy she is okay and will be back in action next week,  Another major plus was Naomi Van-Hill who played her debut senior game and scored her first basket in the same game” said Masterson afterwards.

Quarter scores: 1,Storm 12  Bears2  6;  Storm 24  Bears2  8;  Storm 33  Bears2  15;  Storm 45  Bears2 19
